I am delighted to be able to write this message and I know people with 'real phobias' will read it and think 'really'? The longer I left it, the more I felt that I would lose nearly every tooth in my head etc.
My other major fear also was finding a dentist who would put up with my carry on if I ever did go.
During the calendar year of 1985 he also had four other records make the Top 10; "Easy Lover" , "One More Night" , "Sussudio , and "Don't Lose My Number" ...
Went back about 4/5 more times and got everything seen to. So good that I managed to get my boyfriend out to him also and get his teeth done...hadn't been with a dentist in 20 YEARS! No matter where I end up living or working I will always go back to that dentist .
I don't think there is anyone out there who was more scared than me..now I'm cured!! It just spaces you out and you don't know whats going on. A but as far as I know the only time they give them now is if you need wisdom teeth out.after years of dental terror i just had to face a dentist to hav a terrible mess cleared up.
Can't believe I'm the first one to comment on this song.
A club that I used to go to in the '80's had it on their jukebox.
After having many bad experiences with dentists as a child, I did not go for years but now I go every 6 months, because I do not want to have problems, so best to get things checked and sorted before they become "big problems".
I am still nervous though I have never passed on my fears to any of my children as I sit outside in the waiting room for them.
He reassured me to just go in and all he would do was look. My dentist came out , brought me in, and basically talked to me about everything and anything to calm me down, also told me not to be thinking that he hadn't seen all this before and that he had loads worst..(even though he probably never had.was working! I found that he wasn't only a dentist but nearly a counsellor also.
He looked at my teeth that day, took a brillant 'xray' shot of them and spoke to me basically.
If there is anyone interested in visiting this dentist let me know and I will post it to this site... What's the name of this dentist please tell, i too am on the temp filling thing, I've had one in for about a year now and am afraid to go back coz I know I need so much work done. Am trying to find a place/a dentist that will knock me out and I can get everything done in one go. I tried for over a year to find a dentist who would give me a G. there was no easy solution but i admitted my cowardice and they were helpful & sympathetic Facing -up to the phobia seemed the only answer It's much better in the long run than trying to tolerate dental agony and pain Also it's much better for general health to have a well-maintained mouth There is a dentist herein Dublin who gives 'twilight sleep' for very nervous patients.
Have had too many bad experiences to ever trust another dentist again. I might even get past the fron door of this surgery. After many years of sheer terror at the thought of going to the dentisi, and consequently a very bad set of teeth, friends recommended this dentist to me.
That is the kind of attitude that prevents people like me from attending the dentist. I would have complained - if I could have found an association that would listen to me.i am absolutly terrified of the dentist to the point that I have not been for over 12 years and know I have some major problims, there must be a way for those like us to be able to be given a light annasthetic and then have all the work done.
